New York Giants High - New York Knicks Low

I'm technically not a New Yorker but I am a big New York sports fan.

The New York Giants are currently the SuperBowl CHAMPIONS. I would definitely argue that that game was one of the best superbowls played in history. I mean did you see the move by both Eli Manning and David Tyree. It was like a miracle, first to see Eli get out of almost being tackled and THEN you see D. Tyree catch the football with his helmet...AMAZING!!!

Unfortunately, all is not good in New York sports. They have the New York Knicks who had the second to worst record in the NBA. They are trying to turn things around by hiring a new coach and getting some new players. I've always been a Knicks fan but it's been a hard road these last few years. Luckily I think they can only go up from here!

Cats

As you can tell from my main picture, my cat Bambi is my buddy. They are very entertaining and they fit my lifestyle. To be honest, I also like dogs but I don't see myself getting up everyday to walk the dog. Especially on a cold winter day (I'm in New Jersey), getting up to walk the dog versus staying in my bed (okay I'll throw studying in there as an option too :) is very unlikely.

Here is a link for some interesting facts about cats. One of the things that this site says is that CATS CAN HELP RELIEVE STRESS!!!! How great is that...so if I haven't convinced everyone to get a cat, maybe the video below will help...enjoy

A little peak into my world...

Hi Everyone!!!!

My name is Krystal and my little corner is located in New Jersey. As you can see, my cat, Bambi, is a little camera shy but it's just me and her holding down the fort. As I type, she's running around like a maniac chasing the plastic wrap from my snapple bottle. It's funny how it takes very little to entertain animals....

Anyway, enough about my cat. I must say that I'm a person who loves to try new things and this blogging thing will certainly qualify as something new for me. Especially since I'm technically challenged and it took me an hour to figure out how to upload my picture. But this is also kind of fun; it's a new way to introduce yourself to the class without just copying and pasting the paragraph you posted in the last class and just modified a few details (or maybe that's just what I did :-p).

I'm currently an Insurance Lines Analyst in the Personal Auto Department for a company called ISO. Some people in the insurance industry might be familiar with my company but for the most part are always confused, especially when I try to explain what they do. Basically, my company supplies insurance companies with data such as forms, loss cost, claims information.

I must say, the insurance industry sort of found me because I sure wasn't looking for it. When i graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Sociology, there wasn't really an abundance of jobs available. I went to a recruiting agency, which told me about a position at my current company and I went for it.

I've been with my company for 4 years now and see myself making a career in the insurance industry. I recently finished the CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) Designation and went to the conferment in Philadelphia in September. Unfortunately, I missed the conferment last year which was in HAWAII . I must admit, I did have a good time in Philly but come on... HAWAII

Now I'm pursuing the Master of Science in Insurance Management. This is my 7th class and I will have ONE MORE class after this. I've learned a lot from this program but it's very challenging and I'm excited to be near the finish line.
